Miraculous Monstera

Who isn’t in love with a beautiful Monstera Deliciosa these days? I mean, for good reason. This plant is fairly easy to care for, lives for years, and brings such a peaceful and tropical feel to any space. It’s usually one of the first plants I recommend to new plant parents, and it never disappoints. I, myself, have a few regular rich green Monstera plants and one crown jewel Monstera Variegata (below).

I just love them so much.

Monstera Basic Care Guide

Watering

Monstera like to dry out a little before watering. I generally will wait for them to almost dry out completely before I give my Monstera a bath. You can also pick up the pot after watering to gauge how heavy it is, and after a week or so when the pot starts to feel pretty light… it’s usually time to water again.

Humidity

Because they are tropical plants, Monstera like a little more humidity than your run-of-the-mill house plant. I suggest lightly misting it a couple of times a week in the summer, and maybe an extra time or two here and there in the winter when heaters are on more frequently.

Fertilizing

These babies like to be fed a lot in the warm months. I’d suggest fertilizing with standard house plant fertilizer once a month from May to October, and then no real need in the winter months.
